Built in 1919 by General Electric, the EP-2 was a class of electric locomotive used by Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad from 1919 to 1962. Powered by 12 370 hp Bi-Polar motors mounted directly to the axles, the EP-2 could generate 4,440 hp, had a tractive effort of 116,000 lbf, and could reach a maximum speed of 70 mph. Today, there is only one surviving EP-2 that resides at The Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood, Missouri.
