My guess is that the instructions actually are wrong. If you look at the frontpage of the instructions you'll see the brick in the right orientation. And it doesn't make sense to have it upside down when the brick has numbers printed on it

well the plate makes sense in both ways ... 28 or 82 so I guess it does not really matter

That is true

I don't know why I didn't see that, my mind was fooled by "the upside down effect" or something

But I still believe it is an error in the instructions. It just feels wrong with that orientation.
