==This is an alternative, second build of the #4558-1 'Metroliner,' as included in the official instructions.

MAIN SET: https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/b82xKmJ1a1z

For the most part, I obviously reused all the same parts but a few additional variations were made because in this build two-directional doors are sort of mandatory both in the Dining Car and the Cargo Container. I also decided to change up most of the passengers, and included a few easter eggs on the second platform==

Metroliner, also known in Europe as 'Euro Express,' was one of the coolest LEGO train sets from the nineties. This is not just my opinion — a decade after the original release, LEGO reissued this set in a brand-new packaging as a part of the LEGO Legends series in 2001.

First time on Mecabricks, and required some very substantial alterations and additions to make it all work and look nicely (almost 300 additional pieces in total). I will add the complete list of variations later.

See also an additional #4547-1 'Club Car' set, which I recently built on Mecabricks — https://www.mecabricks.com/en/models/7l2BPrOqv0N

"Metroliner came with a choice of two modern-styled locomotives, either of which could be constructed using the various pieces in the box. The model shown here contained a combined driver's cabin and dining car area separated by an engine space. The train ran on metal tracks and the set also contained a buildable railway platform and 11 minifigures".
