The Saunghyale is a Cheladon-class multirole strike fighter assigned to Wing Commander Kesaal ai'Neshar, callsign "Shrike". Highly maneuverable, compact, and versatile, Cheladon-class fighters are a staple of the Star Legacy Allied Forces' Revenant Fleet, optimized for orbital and high-altitude atmospheric patrol and combat. Like all Cheladon-class fighters, the Saunghyale is equipped with twin minimum-weight linear fusion engines for vacuum and two VTOL Sabre-type hybrid air-breathing engines for atmospheric, both assisted by a full set of six fully-articulated gravity skimmer winglets for vector control. The Saunghyale also contains a standard-issue, fully sapient copilot program: Onboard Synthetic Heuristic Network (OSHN), unit 2564. The vessel is powered by a psion-enhanced microfusion reactor, and carries a weapons payload of 2-6 50kt thermonuclear torpedoes in addition to two fuselage-mounted magnetic slugthrower cannons and two wing-mounted 2-gigawatt microwave lasers.
