Can't wait for episode two of season two. We watched the first episode at my grandma's on Easter Sunday, and it was the perfect way to end my lent of no screen time.
It's about Jesus's life on earth and tells the stories of the different disciples including Simon Peter, Andrew, James and his brother John, (Big John) John, (little John) Matthew, (whom I do think is autistic) Philip, Thomas, Mary Magdalene, and a made up character who is the friend of Thomas, Ramah.
Oh, okay. I think they portrayed Jesus really well, and all the characters seemed really human. I don’t think there’s ever been a show like The Chosen before.
*taken from the internet* “Although the Gospels give us relatively little information about who Matthew was or what his personality was like, The Chosen makes Matthew quite distinctive as a person with Asperger's Syndrome and a variety of accompanying tics and anxieties.”
Well, they pay to let people have the app for free, but on YouTube they receive money with enough viewers, so watching on YouTube kind of supports them more.
There will be around 6 or 7 Seasons of The Chosen, but you know what will be devastating when it comes? The crucifixion. We’re already so close to the characters in the story, and so it will be pretty heavy when it comes in one of the final Seasons. I’m sure the series will end on a happy note, though.
Was that Passion of the Christ? I haven’t seen that one yet, I think it’s rated R.
But yes, I think this one might be worse in some ways. Maybe not as graphic, but more emotional or intense, after seeing these characters for so long. :perservere: They plan to do up to 7 Seasons.
Yeah, it was Passion of Christ. It was hard to watch. Snap and Wizard, you make a good point about us really knowing the characters. And yes, I love how it portrays Jesus! So loving- and lovable! Not as in cuddley, but as in it makes us want to love him. He is fully man! AND fully God!
Yes, we all saw it. It was intense, but we believed we all needed to see it. Of course, like the the four year old didn't watch, he went to bed. Again, it was hard, but we were all touched, and we got to talk about it afterwards, and explain and teach.
Yeah, I respect your family’s decision, and again, I haven’t seen it, I’ve just heard good and hard things about it. (Basically I was just asking without judging).
Oh, sorry to insult your knowledge! () I just forgot there were 8, and thought you were talking about Season 1. Normally people count the episodes of a season all over again once a new one starts.
Yeah, the “Chapters”. Speaking of the Mandalorian, sadly I don’t have Disney+, but I was lucky enough to see the first 4 Chapters at a friend’s house. What I saw so far seemed pretty great, and I would like to watch the rest of the series!
Uh, well, I don’t think the disciples talked in English all the time, so I don’t know if it is accurate. They do a good job with choosing actors with right skin tones, similar personalities, (and for the Jews) and who can use correct accents.
Yes, obviously almost everyone would have spoken in Hebrew or some other middle eastern language. The Roman's would have spoken Latin, I guess. However, we obviously don't understand that, and since the show is made by English speaking people, it makes since that they would have just made everyone speak in english as the original show language.
It also does seem a little weird that the Romans all sound american. I always think they should have a british accent. Maybe the actors were really bad at faking the accent?
