Named after Cyrus Kurtz Holiday, a railroad executive for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, this steam locomotive was one of two original locomotives built for Disneyland and began operation with the park opening July 17th, 1955. The design for this locomotive was originally from Walt Disney's miniature live steam locomotive, the Lilly Belle that he operated on a 7 1⁄4 inch miniature railroad in his backyard called the Carolwood Pacific. Today, the C. K. Holiday is one of 5 steam locomotives operating on the Disneyland Railroad.
