In the process of learning animation nodes I needed to attach a beam that would stay horizontal to a pin which rotates with a fixed radius (i.e. the pin is rotating within the beam hole). Getting the beam to stay horizontal required some trigonometry to track the circular path of the pin and use it for the beam object. While this works well if the beam is attached via the central hole the math needs modification if it is not central - that's my next task!

There are two animation trees - one for the simple crank rotation and one for the not so simple bean rotation which uses the formulas:

x position = cx (origin X position) + r (radius of rotation) * COS(a) where a is the angle in radians

y position = cy (origin Y position) + (radius of rotation) * SIN (a) where a is the angle in radians
