Built by the Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works of Paterson in 1891, Sierra Railway No. 3 is the only Rogers locomotive still in operation in the US. Also nicknamed the "Movie Star locomotive", Sierra No. 3 has been featured in the most movies and TV shows out of every locomotive. Most notable is the locomotive's role as "The Hooterville Cannonball" in the the 1963 Sitcom , "Petticoat Junction", and as "Central Pacific Railroad No. 131" in the 1990 film, "Back to the Future Part III." Today, the Locomotive is considered property of the State of California, and is preserved and operated at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, California.
