Using animation nodes to simulate rack steering and a basic drive chain through a differential. It's not perfect but I learn a lot doing it. The forward and backward motion of the steering is driven from one SIN equation which is reused throughout and the drive train is all driven from a multiplication of the frame number. Lots going on here so please take time to have a close look at what is going on.

If I were doing this again I would reposition my rack because it clashes with the differential when using a straight axle - that's why I have couplers which are too complex to animate.

Beautiful work! I've been thinking about trying to animate my model 42077 Rally Car and I was wondering how to animate a differential.
