This is a mecha/robot/machine that I made so I could enjoy doing some poses. It was difficult trying to figure out what joints would work with what motions, but the ball-socket joints work very, very well for mobility. Not an original idea for joints, but I wasn't shooting to be extra creative; I wanted to have fun.

Please enjoy messing around with modelling him! The lighting I used was the "gradient lighting" in Blender to get the nice shadows.

OK, I have just a small advice to improve the final render. I usually do some color correction with Photoshop by converting the layer to a smart object and adding a Camera Raw Filter where I adjust the brightness/contrast, add subtle grain and a vignette. I added the result to the gallery.

Converting a layer to a smart object allows me to add effects to the layer in a non-destructive workflow.
