Delivered to the expert hands of David Hobbs and Mark Donohue, this Ferrari 512 M participated in the 1971 championship in the four great classics of World Endurance, namely the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen.

Prepared with the greatest care by the Penske team, this private Ferrari 512 M was gonna immediately shake the competition, Mark Donohue taking pole position from his first appearance at Daytona before repeating his performance at Sebring and then at Watkins Glen. In the race and despite impeccable preparation, this 512 M Sunoco will unfortunately never reap the expected laurels, very often out of bad luck.

Great build! Out of curiosity (and because I would like to try it myself): how do you make those personalised tiles (the ones with Sunoco Ferrari, Penske, the #6)? They look absolutely fantastic.

Hi gerteke!

Thanks!
I make all these custom maps using Inkscape, a free vector graphics software. My workflow is quite simple.
I first create all the different logos in separate files. When possible, I directly download a ready-to-use SVG file on specific websites (like 'worldvectorlogo.com', by example), or I create it manually from reference pictures found on the web.
Once I have all my logos, I create all the maps needed. And I finally upload these custom maps in the new Part System of Mecabricks.

Maybe I should make a video on how to create custom maps. It would surely interest some people...

Hi Helo,
Thanks for the reply. I for one would certainly watch that video!
